🔍
The Gospel of Grace — Not of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast by Carl Timothy Wray is a powerful biblical teaching that reveals salvation as entirely the work of God, not human effort. Rooted in Ephesians 2:9, this book walks through the full counsel of Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—unveiling how God removes all grounds of boasting by ending the role of flesh and revealing Christ as the sole source of righteousness, life, and glory. Covering themes such as grace vs works, the end of the law, union with Christ, and the revelation of the sons of God, this book is essential for anyone seeking to understand the true Gospel of Grace and the Finished Work of Christ.

🔥 The Gospel of Grace: Introduction
What if everything you were taught to do for God was never the source of your standing with Him?
From the beginning, man has attempted to reach God through effort—through works, obedience, discipline, and performance. Yet the testimony of Scripture stands in direct opposition to this instinct. The Gospel of Grace does not begin with what man must do, but with what God has already done. It is not the story of man climbing upward—it is the revelation of God coming down, finishing the work, and revealing His Son.
At the center of this Gospel is a statement that dismantles every system of human effort:
👉 Ephesians 2:9 — “Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
This is not a small doctrinal point—it is a divine law. God has established salvation in such a way that no flesh can take credit, no man can glory, and no effort can stand as the source of righteousness. Everything that originates from man is removed so that only what originates from God remains.
This truth runs as a golden thread through the entire Bible.
From the fall of Adam, where human effort first attempted to cover shame, to the giving of the Law, which revealed man’s inability to produce righteousness, to the Cross, where God did not improve man but crucified him—Scripture consistently testifies to one reality: man is not the source—God is.
The purpose of this book is to follow that thread from Genesis to Revelation.
We will see that:
- The Law was never given to make man righteous, but to reveal that he could not be
- The Cross was not God assisting man, but God ending man as a source
- Grace is not God helping you do better—it is God doing what you could never do
- Salvation is not achieved—it is revealed
And in the end, we will discover that God has removed every ground of boasting so that one reality stands alone:
👉 Christ is all.
This is the Gospel of Grace—not of works, not of effort, not of performance—but of God alone, working, revealing, and bringing His eternal purpose to pass.
And when this truth is seen, the striving ends, the burden lifts, and the glory returns to its rightful place—not in man, but in God.
🔥 Chapter 1 — The Foundation: Not of Works
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 Ephesians 2:8–9
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
👉 Romans 11:6
“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace…”
👉 Titus 3:5
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”
⚔️ The Gospel Begins Where Man Ends
The Gospel of Grace does not begin with man’s effort—it begins with God’s finished work.
From the very first step into salvation, God establishes a boundary that cannot be crossed:
👉 “Not of works…”
This is not a suggestion.
This is not a theological opinion.
This is a divine line drawn by God Himself.
Everything that originates from man—his strength, his will, his discipline, his attempts—is excluded as the source of salvation.
🔥 Not of Works Means Not From You
When God says “not of works,” He is not merely saying:
👉 “You shouldn’t try to earn salvation”
He is saying something far deeper:
👉 Salvation does not originate from you at all
- Not your effort
- Not your decision
- Not your performance
- Not your improvement
Even the faith through which you receive it is declared:
👉 “Not of yourselves—it is the gift of God”
This removes every root of self as the source.
👑 Grace and Works Cannot Coexist as Source
The Scripture is clear:
👉 Romans 11:6
Grace and works are not partners.
They are mutually exclusive origins.
If salvation comes from grace:
❌ It cannot come from works
If it comes from works:
❌ It is no longer grace
There is no mixture.
⚖️ Why God Removed Works Completely
God did not partially remove works—He removed them entirely as a source.
Why?
👉 “Lest any man should boast”
This reveals the heart of God’s design.
If even the smallest part of salvation came from man:
- Man would claim credit
- Man would glory in himself
- Man would stand as a contributor
So God designed salvation in such a way that:
👉 Man has no ground to stand on except Christ
🧬 The Hidden Reality: God Is the Only Source
👉 Titus 3:5
Salvation is not the result of what you have done…
It is the result of:
- His mercy
- His will
- His action
This means:
👉 God is not assisting you
👉 God is saving you
⚔️ The Death of Human Contribution
This truth confronts the deepest instinct of the human heart:
👉 The desire to contribute
Man wants:
- To help
- To earn
- To qualify
- To add something
But the Gospel removes that completely.
Not because man is not valuable…
But because:
👉 Man is not the source
🔥 The Beginning of True Freedom
When this truth is seen:
- Striving begins to fall away
- Pressure begins to lift
- Fear begins to dissolve
Because the foundation shifts from:
👉 “What must I do?”
To:
👉 “What has God already done?”
👑 Christ Alone Stands as the Foundation
At the foundation of the Gospel is not:
- Your effort
- Your obedience
- Your performance
It is:
👉 Christ and Him alone
Everything that follows in this book will build on this one truth:
👉 God has removed works as the source so that only Christ remains.
🔥 Chapter 1 Closing
Man reaches upward…
God comes downward…
Man attempts…
God accomplishes…
Man strives…
God finishes…
And at the end of it all, one truth stands unshaken:
👉 “Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
🔥 Chapter 2 — No Flesh Shall Glory in His Presence
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 1 Corinthians 1:29–31
“That no flesh should glory in his presence… He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
👉 Jeremiah 9:23–24
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might… But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me…”
👉 Isaiah 2:11
“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled… and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.”
⚔️ The Presence of God Allows No Competition
God’s presence is not a place where man contributes—
it is a place where man is silenced as a source.
The declaration is absolute:
👉 “No flesh shall glory in His presence.”
Not some flesh…
Not improved flesh…
Not religious flesh…
👉 No flesh.
🔥 What “Flesh” Really Means
Flesh is not merely the body.
It is:
- Human ability
- Self-effort
- Natural identity
- The independent man
👉 Anything that originates from man apart from God
Even the best of man—his wisdom, discipline, morality—
falls under this category.
⚖️ God’s System Removes Every Advantage of Man
Look at how God operates:
👉 He chooses:
- The weak over the strong
- The foolish over the wise
- The base over the noble
Why?
👉 So that no man can say:
“I qualified for this.”
🔑 God Doesn’t Improve Flesh—He Excludes It
This is where many misunderstand the Gospel.
They think:
👉 God helps the flesh do better
But Scripture reveals:
👉 God removes flesh as the source altogether
There is no upgrade to flesh.
There is no polishing of flesh.
👉 Flesh has no place in His presence.
🔥 The Presence of God Exposes the Source
When man comes into the presence of God:
- His strength fails
- His wisdom fades
- His confidence collapses
Because the presence of God reveals one thing:
👉 Only what comes from God can stand before God
👑 The Only Acceptable Glory
👉 1 Corinthians 1:31
“He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
God does not eliminate glory…
👉 He redirects it
From:
❌ Man → self
To:
✅ God → source
⚔️ Why This Must Be Established Early
If this truth is not settled:
- Man will subtly take credit
- Effort will creep back in
- Grace will be diluted
But when this is seen clearly:
👉 Every crown is laid down
👉 Every boast is silenced
🔥 This Connects to Chapter 1
- Chapter 1: Not of works → removes effort
- Chapter 2: No flesh shall glory → removes boasting
Together:
👉 They remove both the source and the credit
🧬 The Hidden Purpose of God
God is not trying to humiliate man…
👉 He is revealing the truth:
Man was never meant to be the source.
⚡ The Shift That Changes Everything
When this truth lands:
You stop asking:
👉 “What can I do for God?”
And begin seeing:
👉 “What has God already done?”
🔥 The Presence Belongs to Another
The reason flesh cannot glory in His presence is because:
👉 The presence belongs to Christ
Not to:
- Your effort
- Your performance
- Your identity apart from Him
👑 Christ Alone Stands Before God
In the presence of God, there is only one who stands:
👉 Christ
And the only way man stands there is:
👉 in Him
🔥 Chapter 2 Closing
The wise fall silent…
The strong bow low…
The confident lose their ground…
And in the presence of God—
No flesh remains to boast…
No man remains to glory…
Only one voice is heard:
👉 “Let him that glorieth, glory in the Lord.”
🔥 Chapter 3 — The Failure of the First Man (Adam)
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 Genesis 3:6–7
“She took of the fruit… and did eat… and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked…”
👉 Romans 5:12
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin…”
👉 1 Corinthians 15:22
“For as in Adam all die…”
👉 Romans 3:10–12
“There is none righteous, no, not one…”
⚔️ The Problem Did Not Begin With Behavior—But With Man
Before there were sins…
Before there were laws…
There was a man:
👉 Adam
And the issue was never just what Adam did…
👉 The issue became what Adam became
🔥 The Fall Produced an Independent Man
When Adam fell:
- He did not just break a command
- He became separated in nature and perception
Immediately:
👉 He saw himself apart from God
👉 He became aware of self
👉 He moved into independence
⚖️ The First Act of Works
What did Adam do next?
👉 He tried to fix it.
- He covered himself
- He hid himself
- He responded through effort
👉 This is the first manifestation of “works”
Man, now separated, tries to restore himself by his own action.
🔑 The Root of All Works
Every system of human effort traces back to this moment:
👉 Man attempting to correct what only God can restore
- Religion
- Law-based thinking
- Performance-driven righteousness
All flow from:
👉 The fallen nature of Adam
🔥 Death Entered Through Adam
👉 Romans 5:12
Death is not just physical…
It is:
- Separation from God
- Darkness in understanding
- Inability to produce life
And every man born after Adam inherits this condition:
👉 “In Adam all die”
⚔️ The Natural Man Cannot Produce Righteousness
Because of Adam:
- Man is not neutral
- Man is not capable of self-restoration
👉 The problem is not lack of effort
👉 The problem is the nature itself
👑 Why “Not of Works” Had to Be Established
Now we see clearly:
Why did God say:
👉 “Not of works”?
Because:
👉 The man doing the works is the problem
🔥 You Cannot Fix Adam—You Must Replace Him
God’s solution was never:
❌ Improve Adam
❌ Strengthen Adam
❌ Train Adam
God’s solution is:
👉 End Adam
⚡ The Hidden Truth
The Gospel is not:
👉 God helping the first man succeed
It is:
👉 God introducing a second Man
📖 The Contrast Begins
👉 1 Corinthians 15:47
“The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”
Now we have:
- First man → failure
- Second Man → solution
🔥 This Changes Everything
If you don’t see this:
- You will try to fix yourself
- You will rely on effort
- You will live under pressure
But when you see this:
👉 You stop trying to perfect Adam
👉 And begin to look to Christ
👑 The Entire Gospel Depends on This
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
- Chapter 3 → Adam is the source of both
🔥 Chapter 3 Closing
Man fell…
Man tried…
Man failed…
And every attempt since…
has only repeated the same pattern…
Until God revealed something greater—
Not a better man…
Not a stronger man…
But another Man.
🔥 Chapter 4 — The Law: Revealing the Inability of Man
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 Romans 3:20
“By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
👉 Galatians 2:16
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law…”
👉 Hebrews 10:1
“For the law… can never… make the comers thereunto perfect.”
👉 Romans 7:18
“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing…”
⚔️ The Law Was Never Given to Make Man Righteous
Most misunderstand the Law.
They think:
👉 God gave the Law so man could become righteous
But Scripture reveals:
👉 The Law was given to prove that man could not
🔥 The Law Exposes—It Does Not Empower
👉 Romans 3:20
The Law does not remove sin…
👉 It reveals it
The Law does not produce righteousness…
👉 It exposes the lack of it
⚖️ The Law Brings Knowledge, Not Power
The Law tells man:
- What is right
- What is wrong
But it gives him:
❌ No power to fulfill it
🔑 Why God Gave the Law
God was not trying to fix Adam…
👉 He was demonstrating Adam’s condition
The Law acts like a mirror:
- It shows the problem
- But it cannot solve the problem
🔥 The Law Shuts Every Mouth
👉 Romans 3:19
The end result of the Law is:
👉 Every excuse removed
👉 Every argument silenced
👉 Every mouth stopped
⚔️ No Flesh Can Be Justified
👉 Galatians 2:16
This is absolute:
👉 No flesh
Not improved flesh
Not disciplined flesh
Not religious flesh
👉 No flesh can stand righteous before God
🔥 The Law Demands Perfection—Not Effort
This is where many stumble.
The Law does not say:
👉 “Try your best”
It says:
👉 “Be perfect”
And if one point is broken:
👉 The whole Law is broken
⚖️ The Result: Total Failure of Man
Under the Law:
- Man tries
- Man strives
- Man fails
Again and again
🔑 The Law Was a Tutor Leading to Christ
👉 Galatians 3:24
The Law’s purpose was never to be the solution…
👉 It was to lead man to the One who is
🔥 The Cry of Romans 7
👉 Romans 7:24
“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me…”
This is the honest voice of a man under the Law:
- Aware of good
- Unable to perform it
👑 The Turning Point
The Law brings man to this place:
👉 Not confidence…
👉 Not pride…
👉 But desperation
⚡ Why This Chapter Matters
Now we see clearly:
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
- Chapter 3 → Adam failed
- Chapter 4 → The Law proves it
👉 There is now no argument left
🔥 The Stage Is Set
Man has been:
- Tested
- Proven
- Examined
And the conclusion is clear:
👉 Man cannot produce righteousness
👑 Chapter 4 Closing
The Law spoke…
Man listened…
Man tried…
Man failed…
Again and again—
Until one cry rose above all effort:
👉 “Who shall deliver me?”
And in that cry…
The answer was already waiting—
Not in the Law…
Not in man…
But in Christ.
🔥 Chapter 5 — Grace Introduced: God Alone Acts
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 John 1:17
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
👉 Romans 5:20–21
“Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound…”
👉 2 Timothy 1:9
“Who hath saved us… not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace…”
👉 Ephesians 1:4–5
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world…”
⚔️ Grace Enters Where Man Fails
After the Law has spoken…
After man has been proven unable…
God does not give more instructions—
👉 He introduces grace
🔥 Grace Is Not Help—Grace Is God Acting
Most think grace means:
👉 God helping you do better
But Scripture reveals:
👉 Grace is God doing what you could never do
⚖️ Grace Has a Different Origin
👉 2 Timothy 1:9
Grace does not originate from:
- Your effort
- Your decision
- Your response
👉 It originates from:
- His purpose
- His will
- His plan
🔑 Grace Was Established Before You Existed
👉 Ephesians 1:4–5
Before:
- You were born
- You made a choice
- You performed anything
👉 Grace was already set in motion
🔥 Grace Is the Answer to Adam
Adam failed…
The Law exposed…
Now grace answers:
👉 Not by fixing Adam
👉 But by introducing something entirely new
⚔️ Grace Replaces Effort With Provision
Under the Law:
- Man must do
Under Grace:
- God has done
🔥 Where Sin Abounded, Grace Did Much More Abound
👉 Romans 5:20–21
Grace is not equal to sin…
👉 It overwhelms it
- Sin increases → grace exceeds
- Failure increases → grace overcomes
👑 Grace Produces What Law Could Not
The Law demanded righteousness…
👉 Grace produces it
The Law exposed sin…
👉 Grace removes it
The Law showed weakness…
👉 Grace reveals strength
⚖️ Grace Leaves No Room for Boasting
Because grace is:
👉 Entirely God’s work
It leaves no place for:
- Pride
- Credit
- Self-glory
🔥 The Shift From Demand to Supply
Under the Law:
👉 “You must”
Under Grace:
👉 “It is finished”
🔑 Grace Reveals the True Source
Grace makes one thing clear:
👉 God is not assisting man
👉 God is the source of everything
⚔️ This Connects to the Whole Thread
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
- Chapter 3 → Adam failed
- Chapter 4 → The Law proved it
- Chapter 5 → Grace reveals God alone acts
🔥 The Beginning of True Rest
When grace is seen:
- Striving stops
- Pressure lifts
- Burden breaks
Because now:
👉 The responsibility is no longer on man
👑 Grace Introduces Christ
Grace is not a concept…
👉 It is a person:
👉 Jesus Christ
🔥 Chapter 5 Closing
Man tried…
The Law proved…
The failure stood…
And then—
Grace entered.
Not to help man try again…
Not to give man another chance…
But to reveal—
👉 God had already done it.
🔥 Chapter 6 — The Cross: The End of the Flesh
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 Romans 6:6
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him…”
👉 Galatians 2:20
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”
👉 2 Corinthians 5:14
“…if one died for all, then were all dead.”
👉 Galatians 5:24
“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh…”
⚔️ The Cross Was Not God Helping Man—It Was God Ending Man
Most see the Cross as:
👉 God helping man improve
But Scripture reveals something far deeper:
👉 The Cross is the termination of man as a source
🔥 The Old Man Was Not Repaired—He Was Crucified
👉 Romans 6:6
God did not:
❌ Reform the old man
❌ Strengthen the old man
❌ Educate the old man
👉 He crucified him
⚖️ The Cross Solves What the Law Could Not
The Law revealed sin…
👉 The Cross removes the man producing it
The Law exposed weakness…
👉 The Cross ends the source of that weakness
🔑 “If One Died for All, Then Were All Dead”
👉 2 Corinthians 5:14
This is massive:
👉 The Cross is not just about Christ dying
👉 It declares that all died in Him
🔥 This Is Where Works Fully End
If the old man is crucified:
👉 Who is left to perform?
If the source is gone:
👉 What effort remains?
⚔️ The End of Flesh at the Cross
👉 Galatians 5:24
The flesh is not managed…
👉 It is crucified
This confirms:
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
👉 Because the flesh itself has been put to death
👑 The Great Exchange
👉 Galatians 2:20
“I am crucified…”
👉 That’s the end
“Nevertheless I live…”
👉 That’s the beginning
“Yet not I…”
👉 That’s the removal
“But Christ…”
👉 That’s the revelation
🔥 The Cross Removes Identity as the Source
The Cross does not just deal with sin…
👉 It deals with identity
- Not just what you did
- But who you were
⚖️ Why This Must Be Understood
If this is not seen:
- You will try to improve yourself
- You will return to works
- You will live under pressure
But when this is seen:
👉 You stop trying to fix the old man
👉 Because he is already gone
🔑 The Cross Leaves Only One Source
After the Cross:
👉 There is no second source left
Not:
- You + Christ
- Effort + grace
- Flesh + Spirit
👉 Only Christ
⚔️ This Connects Everything
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
- Chapter 3 → Adam failed
- Chapter 4 → Law proved it
- Chapter 5 → Grace revealed God acts
- Chapter 6 → The Cross ends man completely
🔥 The End of Striving
When the Cross is seen:
- Striving collapses
- Effort loses its place
- Pressure disappears
Because:
👉 The man who was striving… is gone
👑 Christ Alone Remains
The Cross clears the stage completely…
So that one reality stands:
👉 Christ is the only life
🔥 Chapter 6 Closing
The Law exposed him…
Grace answered him…
But the Cross…
👉 ended him.
Not improved…
Not strengthened…
Not repaired…
Crucified.
And in that death—
Something greater arose…
👉 Christ alone.
🔥 Chapter 7 — Of Him Are Ye in Christ Jesus
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 1 Corinthians 1:30
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.”
👉 Colossians 1:27
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
👉 Ephesians 1:3
“Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”
👉 2 Corinthians 5:17
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”
⚔️ After the Cross—God Does Not Leave You Empty
The Cross ends the old man…
But God does not leave a void.
👉 He introduces a new reality:
👉 “Of Him are ye in Christ Jesus.”
🔥 This Is the Source of Everything
👉 “Of Him…”
This settles it:
- Not of yourself
- Not of your effort
- Not of your decision
👉 Of Him
God is not assisting you into Christ…
👉 He is the one who placed you there
🔑 You Are Not Trying to Get Into Christ
This is where many miss it.
They think:
👉 “I need to get into Christ”
But Scripture says:
👉 You are already there by God’s doing
👑 Christ Becomes Everything
👉 1 Corinthians 1:30
Look at what Christ is made unto you:
- Wisdom
- Righteousness
- Sanctification
- Redemption
Not:
👉 Given to you separately
But:
👉 He Himself becomes these things for you
⚖️ This Leaves No Room for Works
If Christ is:
- Your righteousness
- Your holiness
- Your redemption
Then what is left for you to produce?
👉 Nothing as a source
🔥 The Shift From Doing to Being
Under works:
👉 You try to become
In Christ:
👉 You are made
🧬 A New Creation Reality
👉 2 Corinthians 5:17
This is not improvement…
👉 This is new creation
- Not better flesh
- Not stronger effort
👉 A completely new identity
⚔️ Christ in You—The Hope of Glory
👉 Colossians 1:27
This is the answer to everything we’ve built so far:
- No flesh shall glory
- Not of works
- The Cross ends the old man
Now:
👉 Glory comes from Christ within
🔥 Blessed With All Things in Christ
👉 Ephesians 1:3
Not:
- Some things
- Future things
👉 All spiritual blessings
And where are they?
👉 In Christ
🔑 You Stand Before God in Another
This is the great revelation:
You do not stand before God as yourself…
👉 You stand before God in Christ
⚔️ This Connects the Entire Thread
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
- Chapter 3 → Adam failed
- Chapter 4 → Law proved it
- Chapter 5 → Grace revealed God acts
- Chapter 6 → Cross ended the old man
- Chapter 7 → God places you in Christ
🔥 The End of Self as Source
When this is seen:
- You stop trying to produce righteousness
- You stop striving for acceptance
- You stop building identity through effort
Because:
👉 Your identity is now Christ Himself
👑 Christ Is Your Standing
You are not:
- Trying to become accepted
👉 You are accepted in Him
🔥 Chapter 7 Closing
The old man was ended…
The source was removed…
And then God did something greater—
He did not leave you empty…
He placed you…
👉 in Christ.
And now—
Everything you once tried to become…
👉 He already is.
🔥 Chapter 8 — Knowing Christ No More After the Flesh
📖 Key Scriptures
👉 2 Corinthians 5:16
“Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.”
👉 John 16:10
“…I go to my Father, and ye see me no more.”
👉 John 14:20
“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”
👉 John 6:63
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing…”
⚔️ A New Way of Knowing Has Begun
After being placed in Christ…
👉 God does not leave you to know Him the old way
He introduces a completely new realm of perception:
👉 “Henceforth know we… no more after the flesh.”
🔥 Knowing After the Flesh Is Limited
To know after the flesh is to know by:
- Sight
- Senses
- Natural understanding
- External observation
Even the disciples once knew Christ this way:
- They saw Him
- They walked with Him
- They heard Him outwardly
👉 But this was not the fullness
🔑 Jesus Announced the End of Natural Seeing
👉 John 16:10
👉 “Ye see me no more”
He was not removing Himself…
👉 He was removing the old way of knowing Him
⚖️ The Shift From External to Internal
Before:
👉 Christ with them
Now:
👉 Christ in them
👉 John 14:20
This is the turning point:
- Not observation
- Not distance
- Not form
👉 Union
🔥 The Flesh Profits Nothing
👉 John 6:63
The flesh cannot:
- Reveal Christ
- Understand Christ
- Perceive Christ
👉 It has no profit in this realm
⚔️ Why This Must Be Understood
If this is not seen:
- You will look outward
- You will depend on senses
- You will seek external confirmation
But when this is seen:
👉 You begin to know Him within
🔑 The End of Natural Relationship
Religion thrives on:
- External systems
- Visible structures
- Outward dependence
But Christ says:
👉 That realm has ended
👑 The Beginning of Spiritual Revelation
Now:
- Christ is known by the Spirit
- Christ is revealed within
- Christ is experienced through union
🔥 This Connects to Everything Before
- Chapter 1 → Not of works
- Chapter 2 → No flesh shall glory
- Chapter 3 → Adam failed
- Chapter 4 → Law proved it
- Chapter 5 → Grace introduced
- Chapter 6 → Cross ended the old man
- Chapter 7 → You are in Christ
- Chapter 8 → You now know Him by the Spirit
⚡ The Shift That Changes Everything
You stop asking:
👉 “Where is Christ?”
And begin to realize:
👉 He is within
🔥 Seeing Is About to Be Redefined
This chapter prepares you for the next truth:
👉 Seeing is not natural
👉 Seeing is spiritual revelation
👑 The True Knowing
To know Christ now is:
- Not by sight
- Not by flesh
- Not by effort
👉 But by Spirit and union
🔥 Chapter 8 Closing
They saw Him…
yet did not fully know Him…
They walked with Him…
yet still perceived Him outwardly…
So He spoke—
👉 “You will see Me no more…”
Not to remove Himself…
But to bring them into something greater—
No longer beside them…
But within them…
And from that place—

After:
- Works are removed
- Flesh is silenced
- Adam is exposed
- The Law has proven inability
- Grace has acted
- The Cross has ended the old man
- You are placed in Christ
- You know Him no more after the flesh
Now comes the promise:
👉 “You shall see Him as He is.”
🔥 This Is Not Natural Sight
This is not:
- Physical vision
- Outward observation
- External appearance
👉 This is spiritual revelation in union
🔑 Why Man Could Not See God Before
👉 Exodus 33:20
“No man shall see me…”
That man:
- The natural man
- The flesh man
- The Adamic man
👉 Could not perceive God
⚖️ Now the Condition Has Changed
That man has been:
- Crucified
- Removed
- Replaced
Now:
👉 A new man stands
👑 “We Shall Be Like Him”
👉 1 John 3:2
This is the key:
👉 Seeing and becoming are connected
You do not:
👉 First see clearly, then change
You:
👉 Are changed… and therefore see
🔥 The Pure in Heart See God
👉 Matthew 5:8
Purity here is not:
- Human effort
- Moral perfection
👉 It is a heart:
- Cleansed
- Undivided
- Centered in Christ
⚔️ Beholding Produces Transformation
👉 2 Corinthians 3:18
As you behold:
👉 You are changed
This is not effort…
👉 This is revelation producing transformation
🔑 Holiness and Sight Are Connected
👉 Hebrews 12:14
Holiness is not:
- Self-produced righteousness
👉 It is the state of:
- Being set apart
- Being in Christ
🔥 The Removal of Every Obstruction
Now we see the full thread:

👉 Not just salvation…
👉 But revelation
🔥 Seeing Changes Everything
When you see Him as He is:

👉 Christ is fully revealed
🔥 Chapter 9 Closing
The veil is gone…
The distance is gone…
The striving is gone…
And now—
With nothing left to block the view…
No flesh…

- Accomplishing the Cross
- Placing you in Christ
- Transforming your sight
Leads to one conclusion:
👉 God is all
🔥 Not Part—But All
God’s purpose was never:
👉 To share space with man
It was:
👉 To fill all things
⚖️ The End of Every Other Source
At this point:
- Works are gone
- Flesh is gone
- Self is gone
- Effort is gone
👉 There is no second source left
🔑 “Of Him, Through Him, To Him”
👉 Romans 11:36
This is the full circle:
- Of Him → origin
- Through Him → operation
- To Him → completion
👑 Christ Is All and in All
👉 Colossians 3:11
Not:
- Christ plus you
- Christ plus effort
- Christ plus religion
👉 Christ is all
🔥 Even the Works Were His
👉 Isaiah 26:12
This is humbling and liberating:
👉 Even what appeared to come from you…
👉 Was God working in you
⚔️ The End of Boasting Forever
Now we see fully:
👉 Why God said:
- Not of works
- No flesh shall glory
Because in the end:
👉 There is nothing left to boast in but Him
🔥 The Restoration of Glory to Its Source
All glory returns to:
👉 God alone
Not shared with:
- Flesh
- Effort
- Self
But revealed through:
👉 Christ
🔑 This Is the True Meaning of Salvation

At the end:
- No mixture
- No division
- No second source
👉 Only God remains as everything
👑 The Rest of the Believer
This is where true rest is found:
Not in:
- Trying
- Becoming
- Achieving
But in:
👉 Seeing that God is already all
🔥 Chapter 10 Closing
Man tried…
God removed…
Man failed…
God fulfilled…
Man ended…
Christ remained…
And now—
From beginning to end…
From source to completion…
One truth stands forever:
👉 God is all… and in all.
