Are we in that age. What happens if I marry. Did God already put it in me that I won’t be married?
Luke 20:35 NIV
[35] But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage,
Matthew 22:30 NIV
[30] At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
Brother, this is a deep and important question. Jesusβ words in Luke 20:35 and Matthew 22:30 were spoken to show that in the resurrection life β when death is no more β people will not marry or be given in marriage, because marriage was given for this present age to continue the human race. In the age to come, we will be like the angels, living in perfect union with Christ, the true Bridegroom.
But right now, we are in the transition of the ages. Marriage is still honorable and holy when led by the Spirit. Some are called to remain single for undistracted devotion, while others are called to marry for Kingdom purpose. The key is not whether marriage is right or wrong, but whether your steps are led by the Lord.
At the resurrection, all will be fulfilled in Christ, and no one will marry. But until then, the Spirit leads each son according to His plan. What matters is not outward form but walking in the life of Christ.
