As His purpose unfolds through the ages, that woman grows from immaturity to maturity until she is prepared to bring forth the fullness of Christ according to God’s eternal purpose.
GOD PREPARES THE WOMAN
“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun… and she being with child cried, travailing in birth.”

The woman does not appear suddenly. She is the result of God’s work throughout the ages. Clothed with the sun, crowned with twelve stars, and standing upon the moon, she represents a people who have been prepared by God’s dealings. She is no longer a spiritual infant. She has reached a state of maturity that enables her to conceive and bring forth according to God’s purpose.
CHRIST MUST BE FORMED WITHIN
“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.”

Paul reveals the heart of the Pentecostal administration. The ministry of the Spirit is not simply to produce converts but to form Christ within His people. Spiritual maturity is measured by the degree to which Christ is revealed in the inner life.
Before there can be a birth, there must first be formation.
THE PERFECT MAN IS A PREPARED PEOPLE
“Till we all come… unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”

The ministry gifts were given to prepare God’s people for maturity. The goal is not spiritual infancy but growth into the measure appointed for that administration. God prepares a people capable of carrying greater revelation because every new administration requires greater spiritual capacity.

“Neither do men put new wine into old bottles… but they put new wine into new bottles.”

Before God pours out greater fullness, He prepares the vessel that will receive it. Throughout Scripture, God prepares the wineskin before He pours the new wine. The mature woman represents that prepared vessel—a people whose hearts have been enlarged by grace to receive the next unfolding of God’s purpose.

God never entrusts greater responsibility to spiritual infancy. As maturity increases, capacity increases. THE WOMAN TRAVAILS BEFORE THE BIRTH

Travail is not a sign of failure. It is the final preparation before birth. Throughout Scripture, God uses travail to describe the transition from promise to manifestation. The mature woman has reached the point where preparation gives way to fulfillment.

The birth of the man-child reveals the transition from preparation to manifestation and marks the unfolding of another stage in God’s eternal purpose.
THE MAN-CHILD IS BROUGHT FORTH
“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.”

The birth of the man-child reveals that God’s work of preparation has reached its appointed season. The woman has fulfilled her purpose by bringing forth what she has carried. The emphasis is no longer upon preparation but upon manifestation, authority, and the purpose of God moving forward.

The Feast of Tabernacles was celebrated after the harvest had been gathered. It was the feast of ingathering, rejoicing, and completion. This order is significant. GOD ALWAYS PREPARES BEFORE HE ENTRUSTS
“Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things.”
Matthew 25:21
Throughout Scripture, faithfulness precedes greater responsibility. God develops character before enlarging influence. The pattern is consistent: preparation comes before promotion, maturity before greater stewardship, and growth before expanded responsibility.
THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES REVEALS THE FULLNESS OF THE MANDATE
“The Feast of Tabernacles… after that ye have gathered in the fruit of the land.”
Leviticus 23:39
The Feast of Tabernacles points beyond preparation to completion. It reveals the fullness of God’s purpose after the harvest has reached maturity. The feast reminds us that God’s work is moving toward completion according to the eternal purpose He established before the foundation of the world.
GOD’S PURPOSE MOVES TOWARD FULLNESS
“Till we all come… unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.”
Ephesians 4:13
The goal of every administration is Christ. Every revelation, every ministry, every season of growth, and every divine assignment moves toward the fullness of Christ. God’s eternal purpose is not fragmented into separate plans but unfolds as one continuous revelation centered in His Son.
CHAPTER SUMMARY
God’s eternal purpose unfolds through successive administrations. Each administration carries its own revelation, maturity, and mandate. As God’s people grow in spiritual maturity, He entrusts them with greater responsibility, always moving toward the fullness revealed in Jesus Christ. The Feast of Tabernacles stands as the prophetic picture of that fullness, where God’s purpose reaches its appointed completion.
CHAPTER 8
THE ETERNAL PURPOSE FULFILLED
The Bible begins with God’s eternal purpose before the foundation of the world and ends with that same purpose fully manifested in Jesus Christ. The Feast of Tabernacles reveals the completion of the journey. What God purposed before creation is progressively revealed through the ages until every enemy is subdued, every promise is fulfilled, and God is all in all.
THE FULLNESS OF TIMES
“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him.”
Ephesians 1:10
The eternal purpose of God has always moved toward one glorious objective—the gathering together of all things in Christ. The Feast of Tabernacles reveals this fullness. God’s purpose is not divided into many unrelated plans but unfolds through one continuous revelation until everything finds its fulfillment in His Son.
EVERY ENEMY SHALL BE SUBDUED
“For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”
1 Corinthians 15:25–26
The reign of Christ is purposeful. Every enemy is brought into subjection until the final enemy, death itself, is destroyed. The Feast of Tabernacles points beyond preparation to the complete triumph of God’s eternal purpose as life overcomes death and Christ reigns without rival.
THEN COMES THE END
“Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father… that God may be all in all.”
1 Corinthians 15:24, 28
Paul brings the story of redemption to its glorious conclusion. God’s eternal purpose reaches its fulfillment when the Kingdom is presented to the Father and God is all in all. The journey that began before the foundation of the world reaches its appointed completion in the fullness of His purpose.
THE TABERNACLE OF GOD IS WITH MEN
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
Revelation 21:3
From Genesis to Revelation, God has desired to dwell with His people. The Feast of Tabernacles celebrates this abiding reality. God’s presence is no longer pictured in temporary shadows but in the fullness of His dwelling among His creation according to His eternal purpose.
BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”
Revelation 21:5
The conclusion of God’s purpose is not abandonment but renewal. The One who declared the end from the beginning now declares the completion of His work. The new creation stands as the testimony that God’s eternal purpose has never failed.
THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF THE LORD
“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
Habakkuk 2:14
The prophets looked beyond their own generation and saw the earth filled with the knowledge of God’s glory. The Feast of Tabernacles celebrates this vision of fullness. What began as promise reaches manifestation as God’s glory fills His creation.
GOD’S COUNSEL SHALL STAND
“My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.”
Isaiah 46:10
The final testimony of Scripture is the same as its beginning. God’s purpose cannot fail because it rests upon His own counsel. The eternal purpose established before the foundation of the world reaches its appointed fulfillment exactly as He declared from the beginning.
CHAPTER SUMMARY
The Feast of Tabernacles reveals the fulfillment of God’s eternal purpose. What was established before the foundation of the world unfolds through the plan of the ages, is progressively revealed through the Three Feasts, and reaches its appointed fullness in Jesus Christ. Every enemy is subdued, every promise is fulfilled, every purpose is accomplished, and God becomes all in all. The story of Scripture begins with God’s eternal purpose and ends with that eternal purpose gloriously fulfilled.
CONCLUSION
The Feast of Tabernacles is far more than an Old Testament feast. It is the prophetic testimony of God’s eternal purpose brought to its appointed fullness.
Before the foundation of the world, God established His purpose in Christ. Before there was a creation, He had already determined the end from the beginning. Throughout the plan of the ages, He progressively unfolded that purpose through covenants, priesthoods, feasts, prophets, apostles, and the revelation of His Son. Nothing in Scripture stands alone. Every promise, every prophecy, and every administration finds its place within God’s eternal purpose.
Passover revealed redemption.
Pentecost revealed preparation.
The Feast of Tabernacles reveals fullness.
The mature woman reveals a prepared people.
The birth of the man-child reveals the next unfolding of God’s purpose.
The fullness of Christ reveals the completion toward which every previous administration has been moving.
From Genesis to Revelation, the testimony is one. The Bible is not the story of many competing purposes but the revelation of one eternal purpose centered in Jesus Christ. The same God who chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world is faithfully bringing His purpose to completion according to the counsel of His own will.
The Feast of Tabernacles therefore calls us to lift our eyes beyond beginnings and behold the fullness of God’s purpose. It reminds us that God’s work is moving toward completion, His promises cannot fail, His counsel shall stand, and His eternal purpose will be fulfilled exactly as He declared.

Our confidence is not in religious effort.
Our confidence rests entirely in the finished work of Jesus Christ and in the God who declared:
“My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.”
Isaiah 46:10
May the Holy Spirit continue to reveal Jesus Christ through the Scriptures, establish our hearts in God’s eternal purpose, and open our eyes to behold the glory of the Feast of Tabernacles as the great feast of fullness, where every promise finds its “Amen” in Christ.
